Vasken

Epsilon Eridani

The mine. Vasken exists to extract resources, feeding raw materials from two extraction worlds to processing arcologies on Ironhold. There is no natural habitable world: everyone lives in sealed environments, breathing recycled air. The system draws workers with few other options, and Hermandad has deep roots where corporate and UN authority grows thin.

Vasken I — Scorchpit

Hot metallic

Inner extraction world, tidally locked with one face perpetually blasted by the star. Automated mining works the dark side for heavy metals, with human oversight crews rotating through shielded stations on short, high-hazard tours.

Vasken II — Ironhold

Super-Earth (arcology)

Where the workers live. High gravity and no breathable atmosphere, but positioned conveniently between the two extraction worlds. A population of 8 billion is housed in sprawling arcology complexes alongside refineries, processing plants and shipping terminals.

Vasken III — Dustbowl

Rocky super-Earth

Outer extraction world: cold, dry and geologically stable. Open-pit mining scars the surface, and self-contained company towns cluster around the mine heads. Workers here measure their tours in months.

Vasken IV

Ice dwarf

Distant ice body. Automated water extraction for system use.

Vasken V

Debris belt

Outer debris field, scavenged for metals. Small-time prospectors work claims hoping to strike something the corporations missed.
